Why Redesign?
Amazon is a leading marketplace app with millions of products and brands. Redesigning it requires careful planning to enhance usability and visibility. I’ve focused on fixing homepage bugs to improve user experience, highlight unique selling points, and increase app traffic.
What to Redesign ?
1- Firstly, the vertical scrollbar in the header is crowded and messy, which can be annoying for users. We need to improve it to enhance the user experience.
2- The second change is to improve the card design where Amazon Pay and Keep Shopping are placed, as these elements are cluttered and irritating.
3- In the “Deals for You” section, the red offer stickers can be distracting as red is often associated with danger. To improve usability, we should consider using a different colour that is more inviting and less alarming.
4- The overall homepage needs more white space to improve readability and usability. These changes will create a more pleasant and user-friendly experience for our customers.
The Design
1- Another change I made to the search bar was increasing its radius for a better look and feel, rather than keeping it semi-compact.
2- Improved the cluttered and complex design to be clear and user-friendly, enhancing usability
3- The Amazon Pay card included four features (Amazon Pay, Send Money, Scan QR Code, Recharge Bill) in one card, making it cluttered and complex.
4- The red offer sticker was distracting users, as it looked like an error. Offers should make users feel happy and joyful; a yellow color would be more eye-catching and appropriate.
5- Increasing white space on the homepage will enhance readability and usability, creating a more pleasant and user-friendly experience for our customers.
